Discover the comprehensive scope of our organization through the lens of our multifaceted aims and objectives.

The primary mission of KRP FEMA is to diminish the vulnerability of women and children to human trafficking, illegal migration, and exploitation. Our comprehensive strategy involves a multi-activity plan targeting increased awareness and economic empowerment, particularly among at-risk groups in rural communities. This plan incorporates a spectrum of log frame activities encompassing advocacy, sensitization, campaigns, peer education, community mobilization, victim identification, and counseling, as well as documentation and filing processes. Additionally, our initiatives extend to shelter operation and management, spiritual counseling, case management, psychosocial support, reintegration, social inclusion, skills acquisition, education, and empowerment for both families and communities, with a specific focus on family tracing and reunion. Founded by Kaneng Rwang-Pam, a seasoned broadcaster and market development consultant, KRP FEMA is mentored by MeCAHT, renowned producers of “Europe In My Heart.” With a track record in anti-human trafficking efforts since 2007 in Nigeria and Europe, Kaneng Rwang-Pam is a certified trainer for CMD and a national resource facilitator for organizations such as CRUDAN, NAPTIP, UN Women, and UNODC, demonstrating a commitment to peacebuilding and conflict transformation.

Our Core Values

We believe in the power of informed communities. Our foundation actively engages in awareness creation campaigns to shed light on the intricacies of migration issues. Through targeted initiatives, we strive to empower individuals with knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions and navigate the complexities of migration.

We are advocates for change at both local and global levels. Through strategic advocacy efforts, we work tirelessly to influence policies, promote human rights, and champion the cause of vulnerable migrants. Our goal is to create an environment where the rights and dignity of every individual are protected.

Sensitization is a key element of our approach. We conduct sensitization programs to foster understanding and empathy within communities. Additionally, our campaigns are designed to spark conversations, challenge stereotypes, and promote inclusivity. By addressing misconceptions, we aim to create a more compassionate and supportive society.

Recognizing the influential role of peers, our foundation implements peer education programs. Through peer-to-peer interactions, we facilitate open discussions on migration-related challenges, encouraging a supportive network that empowers individuals to make informed choices.

Community involvement is integral to our mission. We actively mobilize communities to participate in our programs, ensuring that our initiatives are tailored to the specific needs of each community. By fostering a sense of collective responsibility, we strive to create sustainable, positive change.

For those affected by migration-related challenges, our foundation provides a safe space for victim identification and counseling. Our trained professionals offer support, guidance, and counseling services to help individuals cope with the emotional and psychological impact of their experiences.

Navigating complex administrative processes is a challenge for many migrants. We assist individuals in documenting their status, filing necessary paperwork, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements to provide a smoother transition.

Our foundation operates shelters to offer temporary housing and support services for migrants in need. These shelters serve as a safe haven, providing a stepping stone towards stability and independence.

Recognizing the importance of holistic well-being, our organization offers spiritual counseling to address the spiritual and emotional needs of individuals facing migration-related challenges.

Each migrant's journey is unique. Our case management services ensure tailored support, addressing individual needs and circumstances throughout the migration process.

We offer comprehensive psychosocial support, recognizing the mental and emotional toll migration can take. Our programs focus on mental health and well-being, providing coping mechanisms and resilience-building tools.

We believe in the power of informed communities. Our foundation actively engages in awareness creation campaigns to shed light on the intricacies of migration issues. Through targeted initiatives, we strive to empower individuals with knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions and navigate the complexities of migration.

Empowering individuals with skills and education is key to breaking the cycle of vulnerability. We offer programs that focus on skills acquisition and educational opportunities, providing a foundation for self-sufficiency.

We believe in the strength of families and communities. Our empowerment programs target families and communities, providing resources and support to enhance their resilience and well-being.

In cases of separation due to migration, our foundation is dedicated to reuniting families. Our family tracing and reunion efforts involve meticulous processes aimed at bringing families back together, providing a foundation for emotional healing and stability.

What we do as an Organization

Originally known as Project BIHA, KRPFEMA (Kaneng Rwang Pam Foundation for Education and Migration Awareness) emerged from the necessity of organizational expansion. Acknowledging the growing breadth of our mission and the imperative for a more extensive impact, we transitioned from Project BIHA to KRPFEMA, aligning with our commitment to education and migration awareness on a broader scale. The KRP-FEMA BIHA Project stands as a dynamic and comprehensive initiative devoted to catalyzing positive change within communities.

With a multifaceted approach, the project addresses critical health issues through Women’s Health and Cancer Awareness Advocacy, reaching diverse locations, including IDP camps in Plateau and Kaduna States. The Media 4 Advocacy component leverages a two-year radio program on KT 103.9 FM Jos to fervently raise community awareness about the dangers of illegal migration.

The project extends its support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) through charity and psychosocial support programs, recognizing the distinctive challenges faced by this vulnerable group. Education Advocacy emerges as a pivotal aspect, focusing on co-curricular content development, teacher training, spelling bee competitions, school rating, and policy discussions, aiming to elevate educational standards and discourse for community development.

HOW WE WORK

(1) We float media and community-driven discussion & debate platforms on the inclusion of women in pro-cesses using our National gender policy as guide in order to help development partners better capture the gen-der clause when reporting our development process on the one hand. And on the other hand, give policy and decision makers a sense of project uptake and feedback from a demography required to drive the process. A key outcome of these eyeball engagements is that groups and individuals are motivated towards replication of profiled initiatives or to enter into community based collaborations that would deliver concrete change in the lives of our people through women. We work to raise awareness, create debate and secure tangible support for peace, security and growth issues as they concern women & youth.

This strand of work witnessed a hugely successful outing on International Women’s Day 8th March 2014 in collaboration with Grand Cereals Ltd, NASCO Group of Companies featuring debates on the inclusion of women in political processes and their role in anti human trafficking empowerment campaigns with over 200 individuals and organizations from media, civil society and non Governmental organizations in attendance.

(2) BIHA youth anti human trafficking preventive education programmes (detailed bellow in a 4-year planned project summary) aimed at making our young people less vulnerable to human trafficking by (a) rais-ing 30-150,000 youth ambassadors (b) peer educators through training of trainers (c) successful small busi-ness role models through start up support.
